RICON S VS Design Examples

This example provides a step by step design procedure on a pre-engineered KNAPP connection system. The procedure considers several aspects of design essentials to properly detail and specify connectors. Depending on the connector location within the cross-section of the primary and secondary beam radial tension (perpendicular to grain splitting), reinforcement may be required. The respective design method is presented in this example. A simple solution to securing pre-engineered connection systems against wind uplift can be a factor in the design process and is often possible through the use of a full thread toe screw.
