Fully threaded Self-Tapping wood Screws (STS) have proven to be an effective and economical method of reinforcing connections and timber beams. When compared to commonly applied reinforcements such as glued in rods and glued on fibre reinforcements for example, STS are relatively inexpensive, fast and easy to install. The self-tapping screw tip eliminates pre drilling for many timber species in different applications. This is a big advantage of STS especially when they are used in retrofit applications to restore existing connections or beams.
The emergence of ever larger cross-sectional timbers, the need for longer screws has become more apparent. Our self-tapping screws are filling that need with screw length of up to 1000 mm and diameters of up to 12 mm.
For proper installation of long ASSY self-tapping wood screws our application recommendations shall be taken into account.
